Adventure and Dual Sport Motorcycle Skin Care
Adventure and dual sport · Skin is gear

Four hundred miles of pavement and dirt. Your hands, face and backside felt every one.

Adventure riding is long days in the saddle through every kind of weather: buzzing grips, wind on the face, sun through the visor, cold mornings and hot afternoons. Hands go numb and crack, lips burn, and the seat makes its case by day three. Here is the ADV kit, from the first fill-up to camp.

Skin is gear
Why long rides wear you down

Small things, for a very long time.

Nothing about an ADV day is violent. It's the length. Hours of vibration through the grips leave the hands buzzing and numb. Wind and sun dry the face and crack the lips, even behind a visor. Cold, wet mornings crack the knuckles, hot afternoons soak the gloves. And hours in the seat, in the same position, rub the skin raw where nobody talks about.

The fixes are small too. A relaxed grip and a throttle lock on the highway stretches. Repair on the hands and face in the morning, zinc on the lips. Split+ whipped balm on anything chafed at camp. Dry Spray the night before for the hot-afternoon gloves. Cleanse spray and then Massage Cream and Repair on the shoulders, neck and hands after the last fill-up. And if your hands go numb and stay numb, that's worth a doctor's visit, not just a balm.
