Motorcycle Track Days: Sweaty Gloves and Arm Pump
Track days and road racing · Skin is gear

Hard on the brakes, wet inside the leathers, forearms full by session three.

Track days and road racing are short sessions at full effort. Heavy braking loads the forearms, gloves soak through in the heat, and leathers trap sweat everywhere. Hands blister, arms pump, and the body is done by the last session. Here is the track kit, from the paddock to the drive home.

Skin is gear
Why track days pump you up

Brake hard, hang on, repeat.

Every corner starts with hard braking, and the forearms hold the rider's weight against the bars while the fingers squeeze the lever. Session after session, that fills the forearms. Inside leathers and gloves the sweat has nowhere to go, so palms soak, the grip slips, and you squeeze harder, which pumps the arms faster.

Riders who last all day do the same things. Dry Spray the night before, so the gloves and boots stay drier. Grip with the legs, not the hands. Warm the forearms before the first session, cool down between sessions, and do the body work after. Drink more than you think you need. The fastest riders look relaxed for a reason.
