Sweat first. Then the death grip.
The glove hand sweats into the leather. The bare hand sweats onto the rubber. By the back nine the grip is moving, so the hands squeeze harder, and a tight grip wrecks tempo and the forearm both. The blister at the base of the thumb comes from the same thing: wet skin shearing on the grip, swing after swing.
The fix is the one climbers have used for years. Dry hands the night before, so the grip stays where you put it and you can hold the club lightly. Tape the spot that always blisters. Sun on the neck, lips and backs of the hands for four hours needs its own plan. None of this is golf gear. All of it was tested on a golf course.
